well i am in the army and deploying to afghanistan and i am currently taking online classes. i do not want to stop taking these clases so what do i have to do to get the internet. who offers the service and what is the average cost. i was looking at cell phone companies but the one i went to did not offer a internet connection outside of the united states. what do i have to do.

I wish I could help, but, as you know, Afghanistan is a third world country that has been devastated by war. There is very little Internet access outside of what the Military offers except in Kabul. In Kabul they have Internet cafes. You could use a satellite phone but they are VERY expensive.
I found private companies there you could use in limited areas – see below.

As of right now cingular att is the only one. The card goes into your laptop and costs 99 dollars in the store and is free after rebate. It costs 120 per month and does not give you unlimited access. Overages are per kilobyte so be careful. If you are in the military you can get a monthly discount. hope that helps!
